Writer of ‘Moon Knight’ Brings Comic Book Character, ‘Nova’ to Marvel’s Cinematic Universe

A project in development between Marvel and Sabir Pirzada, the writer of Moon Knight, will introduce Marvel Comics character Richard Rider to MCU fans.
Who is Richard Rider?
According to Marvel, Richard Rider aka Nova is a popular character and a young teenager selected to replace the last member of Nova Corps. His life changes as he becomes Nova, justice fighter in secret while maintaining his persona as high school student Richard Rider by day.
Rider’s reputation precedes him, and soon, others seek after him for his powers and eventually he joins the New Warriors. He also is appointed Centurion Prime and given the responsibility of guarding earth’s real estate in space. At one point, Rider is approached by Iron Man, who urges him to become an avenger. Eventually, he helps the Avengers detain Thanos from escaping.
A Fit for Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Nova’s core character makeup places him in the same category as that of another Marvel character, Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man. Peter is a teenager and a science guru who dreams of fighting crime with the Avengers.
Marvel Cinematic Universe films are considered the highest grossing film franchise of all time, according to Statista. Turning Marvel Comics into Marvel Movies has garnered mainstream appeal to fans who have never picked up a comic book.
Sabir Pirzada brings experience of working with the Marvel Brand.
As supervising producer and writer of several episodes of Moon Knight, Sabir Pirzada has been tapped to bring Nova to the screen. Pirzada has also written for the television mini-series Ms. Marvel, also a Marvel Studios production. According to Deadline, Pirzada got his start helping in the writer’s room for Moon Knight.
Fans speculate who will get the role of Richard Rider.
Twitter has already made casting choices for Nova. One of the fan favorites is Miles Teller, who played Mister Fantastic in Marvel’s Fantastic Four.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will produce the untitled Nova film. Feige is the producer behind Black Panther and many other Marvel films. According to Imdb, he has produced every MCU film after Iron Man.
Director and actors have yet to be attached. At this time, it is not known whether the project will be made for television or the silver screen.
